Welcome to the webcast of the premier local government communications event of 2009 - The LGcommunications annual conference. The conference took place in London from 21st – 23rd May. The purpose of this year’s conference was to explore the latest and most successful innovations in the communications business and understand how these can help councils to better connect with their communities and manage their reputations.

By combining speeches, discussion panels, workshops and visits off-site to leading London consultancies the conference was an interactive meeting sharing best practice in local government communications.

The event saw strong case studies, inspiring success stories and challenges to the status quo.

Again this year the LGcommunications Reputation Awards in association with the LGA and IDeA, took place during the conference. The awards were designed to highlight best practice in delivering the five communications objectives set out in the LGA’s Reputation Campaign.
